First Session July 10th
June 7th, 2019 – The Town of Islip Department of Environmental Control is inviting students, teachers and adults 18 years and older, to be a part of an exciting oyster restoration initiative by learning how to become an oyster gardener.

Oysters are a keystone species within the marine environment, playing a vital role in the formation of a stable ecosystem, yet due to destruction from natural events, wild oyster populations in the Great South Bay have seen a decline to historic levels.
